Sunday, July 18 & Monday, July 19
7-9pm each night (you only need to attend one night!)
AUDITION LOCATION:
4th floor of Live Arts in Downtown Charlottesville
123 East Water Street; the corner of 2nd and Water
Please bring a short (10 lines or less) piece of Shakespearean text if
at all possible, and be ready to read sides from the play. Also, if
you sing, play an instrument, or have any other wacky talents to
share, bring them along or let us know!
Shakespeare's final great masterpiece. A work of magic, mayhem, and
mystery. An all-powerful sorcerer's goodbye to his art. A play about
plays, about creation, about spirits and demons, and about a little
island lost in a soundless sea...
Come be a part of this physical, magical interpretation of THE

Father (Bob Bradley) - solid family man, mid 30's
Mother (Grace Bradley) - directing the pageant for the first time - mid 30's
Mrs. Armstrong - type of woman that has to run everything - 50ish
Mrs. Slocum - another congregation lady - 35 - 60
Mrs. Clark - 35 - 60
Mrs. Clausing - 35-60
Mrs. McCarthy - younger version of Mrs. Armstrong - mid 40's
Reverand Hopkins
2 Firemen
Children:
Beth Bradley - the narrator, strong speaking voice and good stage presence - 10-112
Charlie Bradley - traditional kid brother - 8-10
Ralph Herdman - ragged, scroungy, slouchy manner, touch of adolescent cool - 12-14
Imogene Herdman - loud, bossy - 11-13
Leroy Herdman - rough, sure of himself - 10-12
Claude Herdman - tough, combative, 9-11
Ollie Herdman - looking for trouble, Claude's usual Partner in Crime, 8-10
Gladys Herdman - small, witty, feisty - 7-9
Alice Wendleken - prim, proper, pain in the neck - 10-12
Maxine - narrates the pageant, must had a strong speaking voice - 10-12
Elmer Hopkins - Rev. Hopkins son - 12-14
Several more children - Hobie, David, Beverly, Juanita, Shriley, Doris - age range 6-14 - playing shepherds, angel choir, etc.
