Would you like to frolic
in the forest of Arden? Then come to the auditions
for Shakespeare’s As You Like It,
Wednesday and Thursday, May 28 and 29, at 7:00 p.m. at
the Four County Players Theater in Barboursville, with
callbacks on Friday May 30 if needed. If you can’t
attend at those times, auditions by appointment may be
arranged (e-mail requests to
bardalot@gmail.com
).
There are parts for four
women and from nine to twelve men, depending on possible
doubling, from high school to AARP age.
Actors who can sing and
play guitar are strongly encouraged to audition.
Come prepared to do cold
readings from the play and to deliver from memory a
monologue of about 15 lines from any Shakespearean
comedy. Or you may recite from memory either Sonnet 18
(“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”) or Sonnet
130 (“My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun”).
If you sing or play guitar, come prepared to sing and
play.
Rehearsals begin June 1.
Performances will run weekends from July 24 through
August 9.
